This coffee was grown near the village of Aricha in the heart of Yirgacheffe. This region in Ethiopia produces some of the world’s most beloved and sought-after coffees, celebrated for their abundant florals and complexity of flavour.
Adorsi is the first washing station that Testi Specialty Coffee purchased in Yirgacheffe, 8 years ago. It sits in a prime position to receive coffee cherry from some of the highest-positioned and best farmers in the region. Combined with Aricha’s cool climate, this allows coffee to dry slowly, and develop greater depth and sweetness.
Adorsi has breathtaking views, and yet it is the sense of community fostered by Testi that struck us most on our visit. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by beautiful singing; but it was the laughter and animated chatter amongst the team that echoed across the hillside – and the visible care being taken to process the coffee – that stuck with us long after we left.
